After listening to “The Jungle” audiobook I can say that it might be my favorite 20th century work of all time. It was such a treat to read this book when I first listened to it and liked it even more the second time around. Through his writings I got the impression that Upton Sinclair was a man of hard character, one could even say wicked. Could be that he had a dislike for immigrants or was trying to make a social commentary showing that the American Dream wasn’t achievable by everyone. There’s a lot to unpack here but for some reason this book touched something in my soul and it’s one of the most powerful novels that I’ve come across.

I absolutely love fantasy novels, which involve creatures from another world, glorious battles and plenty of medieval drama. There are plenty of novels, which attempt to follow this route, but not all of them are flawless. J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings series is undeniably one of the most successful and popular fantasy tales of all times. The Two Towers audiobook is the midpoint in the story and the second book in the series, which extends over three books. Tolkien is an absolute master, when it comes to fantasy and this is more than evident, with The Two Towers. The novel is fantastical, very dramatic and uplifting in all of the right places. This is one of the reasons that I decided to relive Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s The Little Prince in audiobook form. The magnificent little novel might be short and to the point, but it hits that point with a powerful impact and will stick with you for many years to come. The enchanting tale is undeniably charming and is a family-friendly adventure, which can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age.

The Alice in Wonderland novel would undeniably fall into the latter category so it’s fortunate we can now experience it as an audiobook as well. This novel might’ve been written a long time ago, but it has been retold extensively and has never really gotten old. If any novel has been able to withstand the test of time, this one would be it. Following along with Alice’s fantastic journey through Wonderland and her relationship with the White Rabbit is always a treat and worth reliving no matter how many times you’ve read the book.

This book has remained one of the most captivating, heartfelt and successful books of all time. It has been transformed into films, plays and even television dramas. Although it is arguable, a lot of book enthusiasts agree that the audiobook, which is narrated by Dan Stevens, is the most enjoyable way to experience the novel.
